Summer has Come and Gone...

We are headed out to Moscow, Idaho in a little over a week and I can't believe the summer is over! I have been so excited to move to get settled into a routine and everything and now I can't believe it's here...and I'm feeling sad once again for moving Colton away from all his family!

I have had NO desire to blog. I have been SO sick and still am but I think I'm on the uphill slope (hopefully)

However, although I have just wanted to do nothing, we have managed to have a pretty fun summer :) The sad thing is, I have taken 0 pictures in about 3 months-- lucky for me lots of other people have so I was able to get their pictureS!!

Just last weekend my grandparents were here and did a photo shoot of Colton in the backyard...

He LOVES the hose!

My parents live near the airport, so every time an airplane goes by, Colton shows us.

We got ONE cheesy smile out of him!

He had a milkshake mustache he thought was Pretty cool!

We also took a trip to Island Park with my dad's side of the family...

This is the ONLy smile he gave to anyone there, it's his nervous smile!

Carli, my, mom and I and my cousin and Aunt hanging out on the dock!

Matt skiing, Colton LOved riding on the boaT! He even got to go on his first jet ski ride!

The Awesome cabin we stayed in!!

The next weekend, my cousin Tenille got married! SHe became a Stucki too ;) Colty waiting @ the temple!

My mom helped decorate, her colors were Zebra and Hot Pink-- SOOO cute!

The next weekend was the 24th of July...a big deal here in Utah- Pioneer Day! We got up EArly to get good seats at the parade, Colton sat here just like this the ENTIRE 3 1/2 hours we were there and watched the parade!

The float our stake did was AWESOME! My dad was partly in charge of it and him and Matt, and Tanner went and worked on it a ton!

We also got to go to the Days of 47 ROdeo..this is the only picture I got, but it was a lot of fun!

We have been SO BLESSED this summer with parents willing to let us live with them and let Colty run around their house..I am sure my mom will be so glad when her house is clean again Always...but I am sure she will be missing him too!

We are so excited for our new adventure...I'm just secretly wishing it was MOscow, Russia instead of Idaho ;)

Germans in America :)

For the last 2 weeks...we have had Katrin and Basti from Weissenfels with us here :)

Luckily, Katrin took LOTS of pictures because I didn't...oops!

We got to show them around some of our favorite places, freshen up on our little German that we know, and reminisce of times we had in Germany! It brought back such good memories having them be here with us and we will never forget them, nor our time in Germany!

It was their first time in AMERICA!

Salt Lake Temple

Their first Baseball Game...

The lovely Gardener Village (We did a LOT of shopping...and they did a LOT of buying)

So, Colton is REALLY shy. Like he hides if someone looks at him. However, the morning he saw Katrin he reached up for her to hold him. I thought that was kind of interesting that he remembered her.

He goes off and on doing his squinty-eyed-cheesy grin...right now he is on.

Basti likes the NBA, knows all the players, etc. Too bad there wasn't a game, but we did get a tour of where the JAZZ play.

Inside of CABELLA'S

We also went and looked at houses (since they are few and far between in Germany). I'm not talking about just regular old houses, MASSIVE houses. Some of them it doesn't even look like it is one house. Anyway, Carli works for someone who lives up there, and they have a beautiful home. I'm not going to post EVERYTHING in their house..just the girls bathroom.
Cutest thing ever?!?!? And this picture doesn't even show how dang cute it really is!

Colty and his new girlfriend

After an adventurous week in UTAH, we headed up to good old Idaho for a few days

Katrin and Basti got their first horse ride....Colton got his first horse ride ALONE...

We went down by the water at Matt's parents and Colton couldn't resist getting in, so we stripped his clothes off and let him have at it...

The next day we got to go the lake for a little boating and tubing...another first for Colty. Luckily--his Aunt Annie held him-- I saw a few smiles coming from him!

After about 30 seconds on the tube, Basti fell off, and the water was FREEZING!! It took a couple of hours to get them back on it ;)

We then headed up to West Yellowstone/Jackson Hole Wyoming. It was a long day being in the car, but they got to see a lot of fun stuff!

Old Faithful

And of course we had to stop and see good old ISU.

I didn't get the pictures from the last few days...but the fun continued. I think their general idea of America was that everything is BIG!
They just left yesterday, and I really really really hope Matt and I can figure out a way to get back to Germany in the next couple of years!
Hope they made it home safe....we miss you guys!

I hope they call me on a mission...

This past week, my brother Travis, left for 2 years on his mission... It was definitely Bittersweet...

Colty at Uncle Tuvy's setting apart...Gotta love that facE!

We got to try a new restaraunt that was the Italian version of Cafe Rio--it was good :)

Getting ready to drop him off at the MTC

Colton absolutely Loves his Uncle. It kind of broke my heart that Colton might not remember him when he gets back

He sure was ready!

I found this quote, (thanks Kelsey) about missionaries and I LOVE it!
The definition of a missionary is one who leaves their families temporarily so others can be with their families forever :)
Thanks Travis for being such a good example to all of us, we love and miss you--but know you're doing the right thing!
P.S. Our friends Katrin and Basti are coming from Germany tonight for 2 weeks....we're So excited to see them and show them a little bit of America!

18 months....ALMOST

Last week we went to Colton's "15-18" month old appointment. His appointments kind of got a little mixed up from being in Germany-- he missed one set of shots, but at least he got the German measles shot :)

Anyway, so his appointment was about a month early. It was nice to actually be able to communicate with the doctor about what he should be doing at this age, etc.

She said he is about 7 months taller than kids his age, whatever that means (34 inches)...and he is 29.2 lbs. I am pretty sure he is even heavier than that because he also had "Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease" and had been having diarrhea for 2 weeks straight, and NOT eating a thing so he probably lost some. (I just say that because I have to carry him around). Basically, he is a pretty solid little boy.

I was starting to get a little nervous about his diarrhea, MAJOR diaper rash, and not eating--but just thought it would go away eventually. She took one look in his mouth and diagnosed him, she said he had sores all over the back of his mouth and I should be giving him medication, but he was nearing the end of it at that point. Poor kid, I didn't even give him a thing while he was in all that pain!

Anyway, he also is NOT really talking much, the doctor said he should be saying 6-15 words, he says hmmm...4-5. He rambles a TON though, and I know he is trying to talk--one day it's all just going to come out! Oh, but he can make all the animal noises :)

He was going through a phase where he screamed to get what he wanted (NOT GOOD, but what do you expect when he can't TELL me what he wants). But, we have really tried to work with him, now he just screams when he is mad ;) haha. Anyway, instead of screaming now, he takes whoever's hand is near him and guides it to what he wants. It's Hilarious! He will even grab my hand and try to push someone away if they are to close to him. I mean, he does it ALL the time!!

Anyway, we love him but can't believe how fast he is growing up!

My aunt went "garage selling" the morning after Tyson and Carli's wedding and she found a basketball hoop and ball for $5!! Awesome, so we had to try it out, ALL DAY LONG!

University OF Idaho

In the fall, we will be headed to Moscow, Idaho for Matt to attend the University of Idaho law school. You would think because it is in Idaho that we would still be close to family...but NOPE, it's an 8 hour drive from Pocatello, and 10 1/2 from Salt Lake City!!

Another GREAT thing, is that it's Green (or so I've heard). We will also be right on the border of Idaho and Washington, and Washington State University is about a 5 minute drive :)

Matt found out about a month ago that he got accepted, but we still have been debating about him playing basketball again. I feel like being in another country gave me a whole new outlook on a lot of things in life, and I absolutely LOVED the opportunity of living over there. But...I guess all good things come to an end :) Law School is something Matt has wanted to do for a long time, and it's about time he get started with it! We are excited for another adventure!
