Mylee Mae Stucki

I am going to give the brief version of Mylee's first 4 days of life..she is an ANGEL!  I know she is only almost 4 days old now, but I can't believe how blessed we are to have this sweet little girl in our lives.  I told Matt before she was born I prayed every day that I would have a nice baby because with him being in his first year of law school and in the bishopric and with my sweet little 2 year old boy, I didn't know if I could handle another baby like Colton.  Not that he was bad- he just never slept at night for the first couple of months, would never just chill, and never slept unless I was holding him.  Matt's semester this time around is also a lot more work, he has an extra class and has his big papers to write.  I am not going to lie, I was nervous to have this baby.  Since I had trouble getting pregnant with Colton, I didn't really want to wait too long in case I wasn't able to get pregnant again, and I didn't think having a baby at the very beginning of the 2nd semester was the perfect time, but now that she is here (and only 4 days old, so this very well could change) but I feel SO blessed at what a good, sweet little girl she is!  She is waking up three times in 12 hours of sleep to eat, and is a great nurser (takes about 20 minutes, and she is back asleep in her bed)  The first night was a little rough, but every night she just gets better!  I know I am going to be jinxing myself by typing all this, but for now we are all Happy :)
And I think she is the cutest little thing ever.  I am loving the pink blankets, and bows, and outfits :)

Mylee at 3 days old right after her first bath at home!  Look at that hair...and it's Curly!!
Our sweet friend, Sylke from Germany sent this onesie!  It says Kleine Ballerina (small ballerina)

My awesome mom who is here to help!  She keeps telling me she will keep her during the night, and every morning I get up after a pretty good nights sleep and say, "She was an angel again!"  It has still been SO wonderful to have help during the day, and especially lifting my 35 pound son!  We are sooo grateful she is here with us for a couple more weeks!
Long and skinny :)
Her first trip to the doctors office, her billy rubin levels were high indicating she had some Jaundice so she had to get her foot pricked 3 days in a row, luckily they went down!

One of the few times she has cried...she is a very content little girl!

At the hospital they did a photo shoot of her.  Colton just kept giving her the eye!
We thought he would want a picture with her, but he was a little scared of her for the first day or two!
Just watching her again!
Picture from the photo shoot!

I absolutely LOVE this picture.  Matt is such a good dad, and it has been fun to see him with a baby again!  He has been so good with her!

My cute family while I am laying numb in bed still!
First picture of her right after she came out!
I was supposed to be induced Wednesday morning at 7, but they called at about 630 and said I would have to wait until 10.  I was kind of bummed, but just had more time to get ready and relax that morning.  I went in at 10, and got all hooked up to the pitocin by 11...and then we just waited for the contractions to start.  They turn the drip up slowly, so it takes a while.  I had lunch at about 12:30 not really feeling much.  They said if it didn't work I would have to go home and try again tomorrow.  So, at about 2:30 I actually felt a contraction.  I started having back cramps and I said, I want an epidural..haha.  With Colton, I went really fast, so I didn't want to miss out on my chance.  I wasn't having hard contractions, but I knew when they hit, they wouldn't stop.  At 345 they gave me the epidural and checked me and I was dilated to a 4 (I had been a 3 for 3 weeks) The next couple of hours were great, I was having contractions every minute that would last a minute, but didn't feel a thing.  We watched basketball and joked with the nurses and Matt had a big old dinner served to him.  At 6 my doctor came in and checked me, I was dilated to a 6, so she broke my water.  At 645 I was nervous Colton and my mom weren't going to be able to come see the baby because Matt had to go pick them up and if she didn't come until late, it would be too late.  So, I had Matt leave to go get them.  Well, about 5 minutes after he left I started to feel pressure, A TON.  So, I had the nurse come in to check me, and I was at a 9 1/2.  I panacked, called Matt at 655 and said, come back!  He had just gotten home, so jumped in the car to come back.  He got there a little after 7 and I started pushing at 7:10 and had her at 7:20!  I literally pushed 3 times!  However, I had to have an episiotomy and wripped as well--definitely feeling it still after 4 days-wow!  Anyway, she was born 9 pounds and 21 1/2 inches long--90 % for both!  She has very long skinny toes and fingers, and the nurses kept going on about how much hair she has!  I stayed at the hospital just that night and we came home the next night!
Colton has been pretty cute with her.  Well, he doesn't really show a lot of interest, but he gets very concerned if she cries.  Yesterday, she was laying on the floor getting her diaper changed and started to cry.  He ran over and grabbed her binky and blanket, and put her binky in her mouth.  It melted my heart!  Also, last night after we put him to bed I gave her a bath.  It had been probably 45 minutes since he went to bed and she was crying in the bath.  All of the sudden we here him, "Uh-oh, Baby!"  Matt went in there to tell him she was ok, and he kept saying, uh-oh, wa-wa, baby!  Hilarious, he couldn't fall asleep until he knew she was ok.  He also always runs to peek in her bassinet to see her.  He loves to look, but not quite sure about touching her which is just fine for now!
This is definitely turning into a novel, but if I don't write it all here, I won't write it down anywhere, or remember all of it!
Anyway, it has been a really special 4 days for us.  I can't believe I have 2 kids and that we are a family of 4.  Before I went into the hospital the night before I had a little break down about leaving Colton and being sad if he wondered where his parents were.  I felt like I couldn't have another baby because of the love that I feel for Colton, nothing could match that.  It is so amazing to me how we can continue to love more and more, and how I already love both of them equally and would do anything for them.  I am so so thankful that I am blessed to raise two of God's children.  I couldn't be happier!
And I couldn't leave out pictures of this little mischevious boy!

Your baby story is so much easier to read than someone who was in labor all day and all night or had to have an emergency c section. So glad she's here and mellow and easy. Congratulations!

OH I am soooo glad you wrote a "novel"!!!! Seriously it sucks that Bev got sick, I am DYING to hold that little cutie! She is seriously so pretty and I love how concerned sweet little Colton is for his new sister! I agree, right before I had Bev I was worried that i could not love another child as much as her, but the second I saw Eli's cute little face I was in love! I am super excited for you guys!!!!

Yay! She is darling!! I am so glad she is a good baby for you and that you guys are doing well. I need to pray LOTS as well the next time I have a baby because I need a good baby! Both of my girls were hard too. And I had the exact same feelings about loving my second child. I just cried for Marisa and wondered how another child would fit. Amazing how love works, huh? Kisses to you and your baby girl!

Congratulations on your darling new baby girl! She is just beautiful and so dang lucky to have such a caring older brother. I think it's adorable he gets so worried when she cries!

I love that your mom passed you over to my blog - mostly because my own mom does the same thing ALL the time and it's really the best way to get connected! That's so sweet of you to ask permission to share my story. I am 100% okay with you sharing whatever you'd like! I'm sure you know ALL about the life I'm learning so you probably have a few of your own wonderful experiences that you could add to my own.

Congrats again on your Mylee Mae (I just love that name) and enjoy all the cuddling and swaddling that comes with a newborn!
